This page is all about the granary on your island sanctuary in FFXIV.Including each expedition, the best expeditions and what materials youshould aim for to upgrade your granary, workshops and develop new landmarks.

The Granary is a building that allows you to send mammets to variouslocations on the island to forage for resources similarly to ventures. These expeditionsyield a range of materials, some of which are classed as rare materials.These rare materials can only be obtained through expeditions andtherefore should be your key focus.

Expeditions can be sent out for up to seven days costing 50 Seafarer's Cowriesevery day. The cowries are taken out of your inventory as soon as youdecide how many days the expeditions last.

Every day on your daily resetthe mammets will return with a collection of normal itemsand a small amount of rare items that improve as you upgrade the rank ofyour granary. They do not offer any experience points at all.

While ranking up it is advised to do your Granary one day at a time wherepossible to save your Seafarer's Cowries. If you can not afford your expeditionat the beginning of the day due to upgrading other parts of the island it is nota problem. A single expedition takes up to a day meaning you cansend them off 20 minutes before reset and receive the same rewards.

Once you have a comfortable amount of cowries, you can simply send themout for a week at a time. It can be quite convenient to try and set this upso they are ready at the start of each reset so you can collect everythingat once.

You can also change what expedition your mammets are out for at any timebefore the reset for the day if you change your plans.

Up to two Granaries can be built meaning two expeditions at the same time, youcan also relocate this building to another plot whenever you would like.

Upgrading your granary offers more materials and therefore gives you moreupgrades faster and more Seafarer's Cowries using your workshop. Thereare 3 upgrades available the first being at rank 6, 8 and 13.These also take time to upgrade but can still be used while being upgraded.

Simply interact with the signboard whenever you want to upgrade. You canchange the style of your workshop to any previous upgrade stage whenever youwould like. This only offers cosmetic changes.

There are six expedition areas which you can send your mammets to, these donot change and you can send both granaries to the same location if you wish to.

The most important two are having 6x Island Spruce Logfor granary upgrades and 9x Raw Island Garnet for workshop upgrades whileyou progress and grow your island.

From there, 3x Island Silver Ore for the 4th landmark, 5xIsland Alyssum for the extra otter-themed landmark and 5x cave shrimp for the Uncharted Course extralandmark.

The most important order for expeditions would be to gain the materials toupgrade your workshops, then granaries and then obtain the silver ore forthe final landmark.

After that it simply depends on what supply and popularity your workshophas. Materials with a very high or high popularity should be focused on butaside from that always make sure you have at least 12 of each materialbut a nice stockpile of at least 20 keeps you comfortable.

At Rank 20, you also have the ability to use these materials to makenew Restraints which guarantee the capture of a specific animal. That being said,those are a 1 time use and cost an outstanding 75 Granary materials. I wouldnot recommend these unless you are having a really though timeon the rarest animals.
