Police Chief

Message from our Chief

Dear Community Partners,

It is my privilege to have been appointed to Chief of Police for the City of Redlands. I am honored and humbled by this appointment, and I look forward to continuing to work with you in this capacity as we move forward.

Firstly, I’d like to share a bit about myself. I started my career as an intern with the RPD in 1997. I was hired as an officer upon graduation from the University of Redlands and attended the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department training academy in 1998. Since then, I have had the good fortune to serve the community of Redlands in various capacities, most recently as the commander of the Special Services Bureau. Over the years, I’ve also had the pleasure of participating in numerous community groups and organizations in both personal and professional capacities. Like my predecessors, I value the collegial relationships the RPD enjoys with community stakeholders and our joint efforts in the promotion of public safety and community well-being. I know how much you all do on a regular basis to support the efforts of the men and women of the RPD, andIlook forward to maintaining our partnerships and working together to continue to best serve the community of Redlands.

On a personal note, I am committed to life-long learning, professional growth and development, and our community. I am blessed to have a supportive family that frequently participates in community events with me, and I look forward to introducing them to you in the future!

I would be happy to meet prior to any regularly scheduled meetings, should you wish to do so. Please contact Executive Assistant Chay Miller atcmiller@redlandspolice.org for scheduling assistance. Once again, I look forward to working with youand am personally appreciative of your service to the community of Redlands.

Sincerely,
Rachel Tolber
